Frequently Asked Questions

Cinco de Mayo – West Side Saint Paul is an exciting celebration of Mexican-American culture. We are proud to welcome all guests to the festival to learn about the history of Cinco de Mayo and celebrate our unique culture on the Westside! Below are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. Please also visit the pages above for more information about events & activities. As part of our continued community outreach, we have also compiled a list of Youth Expectations for the event. We can't wait to meet you on the Westside!

Q: Are pets allowed during the event?
A: No.  To keep everyone safe, pets and their escorts will be required to leave the festival grounds - with the exception of service animals.  Please leave your pets at home.  Please note that animals on site will be escorted off the grounds by event personnel.

Q: Can I ride my bike or roller blades during the festivities?
A: Unfortunately bikes, roller blades, skateboards etc. present a possible safety concern. Please leave such item at home or walk them through the event grounds.  We encourage you to take your time exploring!

Q: Is there any cost to attend this festival?
A: There is no cost to enter the festival grounds and there are many, many free activities happening all day long.  In some areas there may be a small fee to cover the costs of extra activities. Please consider buying a button to support the festival and help offset costs.

Q: Where do I park during the festival and what roads will be closed?
A: There are public lots to park in during the festival for $10.  Click here to see parking details.

Q: Will handicap parking be available? If so where is it located?
A: Parking is located in the West Side Dental Clinic parking lot (478 S Robert St). A Handicap sticker is required.

Q:  Do you take credit cards during the festival?
A:  Some vendors may have that ability.  We have provided an ATM on site (on the street near Parque de Castillo). Both Beer Garden bars will accept credit cards this year.
